Young Rembrandts Drawing Adventures

Announcing Young Rembrandts Drawing Adventures!

This Summer @ The Teacher's Orchard

Go to http://www.youngrembrandts.com/yrcobb/ to register!!!

Young Rembrandts focuses on teaching children to draw, using a structured step-by-step method. This process of directed drawing gives young students instruction on how to draw increasingly complex images at a crucial time in their development. Students are exposed to a wide variety of subject matter, artistic concepts, art history and mastery of their materials preparing them with the tools, confidence and ability to excel in the arts.

Adventures Under the Sea June 10-12, T/W/Th, 1-3pm, $60

Create your own world under the sea with Young Rembrandts!  Our fish characters will consist of sharks, jelly fish, octopus and others. We will give our fish characters expressions and will place them in fun, action scenes. On our final day, we will draw a large scene of the coral reef environment, inviting a great opportunity to use a variety of colors and textures. Our creative juices will flow as we develop new and fun characters!  Pencils, markers and Sharpies™ will be used.

Draw with the Master ArtistsJune 17-19, T/W/Th, 1-3pm, $60

This week, spend time exploring some Master Artists with Young Rembrandts.  We will draw a variety awe-inspiring images form many familiar artistic masters, all while exploring different media.  We will create a large scene reminiscent to Roy Lichtenstein’s “Still Life with Figurine” from 1974.   We will explore the many ways to illustrate shadow and light using techniques Lichtenstein used.  On day two, we become caricaturists and create unique cartoons of many famous artists.  The final day allows us to explore pastels chalks as we learn about Paul Cezanne and his mastery of light and color.  We become Masters ourselves!

The Mysterious World of EgyptJuly 8-10, T/W/Th, 1-3pm, $60

This week, explore the mysterious world of Egypt with Young Rembrandts!   We will spend 3 days digging into how the Egyptians lived.  We will investigate decorative objects in the treasured tombs including sarcophagi, hieroglyphics and more.  We will create drawings full of artifacts and Egyptian imagery using a variety of media, including markers, color pencils, Sharpies™ and more.

Exploring PastelJuly 15-17, T/W/Th, 1-3pm, $60

Join us for 3 days of adventurous fun as we explore many “locations” this summer and take our passport along as we experience a new medium, pastels.  In our imaginations, we will travel to 3 different locales to inspire each day’s pastel creation.  Included locations are: a cityscape, the Swiss alps and a tropical scene full of color.  Each day we will create 1 large drawing in pastel chalks.  The results will be truly frameable!  No experience necessary.  Wear an old t-shirt or art smock.

Registration Date:  April 26 from 2PM - 4PM @ The Teacher's Orchard

Please note:  There will be a $10 Registration fee to reserve your spot.
